A Proven Leader for District 76
For over 30 years, I have had the great privilege of serving the Rowan County community—first as a business owner and for 12 years as your County Commissioner Chairman. My life in Rowan County has been defined by a few simple principles: Make a promise, and keep it; and when you commit to responsibility, do it with excellence.
The Business of Results
As a State Farm Insurance Agent for three decades, I haven’t just managed a business; I have helped families and business owners plan for the future, navigate disaster and uncertainty, and protect what matters most. Earning the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations has taught me that the best results come from rigorous planning, long-term vision, and unwavering financial discipline. I believe that state government should be run with the same accountability and attention to detail that I have brought to my business every single day.
A Track Record of Service
When I decided to run for the Rowan County Board of Commissioners, I did so because I wanted to see our community recover from economic devastation. Throughout my tenure as Chairman, I have focused on building individual and organizational relationships that last. I’ve worked to create a strong foundation that improves the complexities of budgeting, zoning, infrastructure, public safety, and educational improvement through spearheading industrial recruitment projects that bring badly needed revenue and high-quality jobs for our citizens, our children and our grandchildren. I have worked hard to ensure that our county remains a place where families can grow and businesses can prosper.
I have consistently worked to bridge the gap between education and the modern workforce, including the ongoing efforts to expand technical training opportunities at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. I believe in economic development that is smart, sustainable, and respectful of our taxpayers.
Rooted in Our Community
My commitment to this district is personal. I have been married to my wonderful wife, Kim, for almost 38 years. We have raised three children here and are now enjoying the incredible joy of being grandparents to five. This is the place we call home, and it is the place I am fighting to improve and protect.
Whether I am competing on the tennis court, working in my yard, or sitting at the commission dais, I am the same person: a man of deep faith, a passionate public servant, and a fierce advocate for the people of Rowan County.
Moving Forward Together
As your representative in the NC House, I will bring the same energy, business experience and common sense government improvements to Raleigh that I have worked to bring to our community for the last 30 years. I have no interest in a career in politics; I am looking to continue my life’s work of serving this community and bringing hope and opportunity to our citizens, our children, and our grandchildren.
I’m asking for your vote to ensure our district has an influential voice that is experienced, principled, respectful, and ready to deliver results from Day One.
